G216 Road Closures Between Kyirong Town and Kyirong Port from April 15

Kyirong, Tibet – April 14, 2025
Kyirong Port Public Security Bureau has announced intermittent road closures on the G216 highway from Kyirong Town to Kyirong Port. This is due to the repair work after the mountain torrents on September 27, 2024.

To ensure public safety during the repair, controlled traffic will be implemented from April 15 to October 31, 2025.

Traffic Control Schedule:

• Closure Period: April 15 – October 31, 2025
• Intermittent Traffic Windows:
  • Mondays and Fridays: 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM (two-way traffic)
  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays: 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM (two-way traffic)
• Affected Section: The G216 highway from Kyirong Town to the national gate of Kyirong Port, within the Kyirong Port area.

Outside of these times, the road will be fully closed and no vehicles will be allowed to pass.

Travel Tips:

• Plan your trip around the open hours.
• Follow the instructions of the traffic personnel.
• Be extra careful when driving through the construction area.
