Day 1: Arrive at Lhasa

Upon arrival you will be met by our English speaking Tibetan tour guide and driver at the airport / train station, and transfer you to the hotel in downtown. Your Tibet tour operator will meet you at the hotel upon arrival and give all instructions. Rest of the balance should be paid.

Day 2: Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street

Today, we will visit the Potala Palace which is built in 7th century and explore the grandest of this myriad chapels. You will experience its audience halls, the jewelled and Golden burial Chortens (stupa Tombs) of past Dalai Lamas, and tremendous number of Buddhist frescoes, Thangkas, combinations of mandala, etc. In the afternoon, pay a visit to the holist temple in Tibet, the Johkang Temple, built during king Songtsen Gonpo’s reign by princess Wencheng and its famous Barkor Kora, where you can buy or appreciate traditional Tibetan artefacts, religious implements, antiques, books, Tibetan music instrument, Thangkas, and tradition Tibetan clothes etc.

Day 3: Visit Drepung and Sera Monasteries

After breakfast, we will start our group tour at 09:00 in the morning. Drive 8km north-west of Lhasa and visit Drepung Monastery, which is situated at the foothill of a mountain and was founded by Jamyang Choeje in 1416. It was once the home of 10000 monks and Ganden Podrang in Drepung is famous for it was the administrative center during fifth Dalai Lama and later moved to Potala palace. After having lunch, continue to visit the Sera Monastery, which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa’s disciple Jamchen Choeje. The most attractive is its Buddhist monk’s debating held in the courtyard.

Day 4: Set out for Gyangtse to Shigatse. 375km

After the breakfast all group members picked up from the hotel at 09:00 and drive to Shigatse via Gyangtse. En-route, you will across Kambala pass (3975m), Yamdrok Youtso Lake, Karola Glacier and Semila Pass. Stop at every sight to take photos the great natures until arriving in Gyangtse. Gyangtse is renowned for Pelkhor Monastery and the stupa. Gyangtse Zong is located on top of the hill, was once the administration of central Tibet. We will drive more 90km to Shigatse through Tibetan villages aside the road.

Day 5: Drive to Rongphu Monastery

We will drive to Rongbu Monastery (5150m) located just below the the Mt. Everest EBC (5200m) . On the way, we will cross the cultural town Lhatse, Gyatsola Pass (5248m), and Shegar cover 245km.  A little from Shegar we will head into huge mountains and passes to cover 102km until Rongphu monastery, the highest monastery in the world.

Overnight: A simple monastery guesthouse or tented guesthouse

Day 6: Trek from Rongphu to EBC

Distance: 8km Time taking: 3hrs. Altitude: 5250m/17220ft Overnight: Camping

Start trekking from Rongbu monastery to Everest Base Camp (EBC)

Overnight: Gesar hotel or Tashi Chorten hotel (4 stars)

Day 7: Little Hiking and Acclimatisation

Distance: 3-5km Time taking: 2hrs. Altitude: 5300m/17520ft Overnight: Camping

Do a little hiking and acclimatise for the rest of the day. You can explore more at the at Everest Base Camp (5250m/17220ft)

Day 8: Trek from EBC to Japanese Base Camp

Distance: 12km Time taking: 4hrs. Altitude: 5460m/17913ft 2-3hours Overnight: Camping

Start trekking from Everest Base Camp (EBC) to Japanese Camp for 12km with a time taking of 3-4 hours.

Day 9: Trek from Japanese Camp to the Interim Camp

Distance: 7km Time taking: 5hrs. Altitude: 5800m/19028ft Overnight: Camping

Trek from Japanese Camp to the Interim Camp for 7km with total time taking 4.5 hours.

Day 10: Trek from Interim Camp to Changtse Base Camp

Distance: 5km Time taking: 4hrs. Altitude: 5950/19520ft Overnight: Camping

Trek from Interim to Changtse Base Camp for 5km with time taking 3.5 hours.

Day 11: Trek to<em> </em>Advanced Base Camp and Return to Changtse Base Camp

Distance: 8km Time taking: 7hrs. Altitude: 6340m/20800ft Overnight: Camping

Trek to Everest Advanced Base Camp (6340m/20800ft) and return to Changtse Base Camp.

Day 12: Trek back to Rongpu Monastery

Distance: 20km Time taking: 7hrs. Altitude: 5150m Overnight: Guesthouse

Return to Rongbu monastery.

Day 13: Drive to Shigatse 325km

Drive back to Shigatse.

Day 14: Drive to Lhasa 280km

Drive back to Lhasa via Northern route. Hopeyou enjoyed Advanced Base Camp trek.

Day 15: Transfer to Airport or Train Station

Your local Tibet tour guide and driver will transfer you to the airport or train station to connect to your next destination.
